There’s a many universal symbols for man and women and when you go to a Dutch bathroom and you’ll see all of them. But from time to time you’ll just see words like “Heren” and “Dames/Vrouw” (Men – Women). Hope this helps you in your time of need. And don’t forget your coin purse.
Many bathrooms in Holland are paid, even if you are in a restaurant which you are eating in. This is not always the case but expect to pay between 20-50cents to use a toilet. Upwards of a euro or two if it is something like King’s Day (national holiday) or a World Cup football final.
