Unfortunately for you visitors the costs to get into museums is high in comparison to what you may expect. They are worth it and the Dutch tend to update and integrate technology whenever possible to give you the best experiences possible.
If you are in Amsterdam more then a few days and intend to take in many museums it may be worth it to buy a museum card. It’s a 55euro investment but gets you into 32 museums and exhibits in Amsterdam alone and for free for a year. Not to mention around 400 in total in the entire country.
