Once a Pop-Up Cannibale Royale has a few locations in Amsterdam and boy am I not sad. Amsterdam has really nailed the burger scene. A far cry from when I moved here 12 years ago.
Unlike other strictly burger joints in Amsterdam, this is actually more restaurant style and you may find it difficult to get a table. It may be better to reserve you space in advance or risk waiting a while for a table to open up.
They do have several things to choose from on the menu beyond just burgers. This includes various starters, steaks, ribs, salads, sides, and desserts.
I’ve been told I’m missing out having not had their ribs, so I suspect that’s next on the list.
UPDATE: I have recently return for ribs and steak. Even on a slow Monday night in the lull of tourists season I was forced to sit at the bar. Make a reservation in advance even if it’s day of. I ordered the ribs my friend the steak. The steak was cooked well and had great flavor – he had the modest steak. The ribs were super tender and very good. But I stand by my opinion, cafe De Klos still wins hands down best in town. Now, I might recommend this place if you are with friends and not everyone wants just ribs. De Klos is much more a no non-sense bar and you order ribs and go. Cannibale Royale has better atmosphere and various very good options to choose from.
UPDATE 2: Since a few weeks they have a new location right in the center of town in the Red Light District. Man has the food scene really opened up in the center recently.
