Every Month Amsterdam based musician Cindy Peress hosts an open invited stage and invites musicians from all over the world to perform. The next of these events is this Saturday, the 21 of March at the Cafe Langereis.
The program is: 19:30 Cindy Peress and Derk Jolink (bas)… 20:00 Tom van Berkel, 20:30 Mizza Hendrix, 21:00 Tom Forster 44 verses, 21:30 Marjolein van den Hombergh, 22:00 Carlos Manso and Barbara Schroevers Ruigoord Rebels.
Cafe Langereis is a small Dutch Bar located just off the River Amstel (Amstel 202) and not too far from Rembrandt plein. If you want you can always hit up my favorite new Tex-Mex joint just 2 doors down called Salsa Shop for a bit to eat and enjoy the music and great beer at the cafe until late into the evening.
About the host:
Cindy is known as a very quirky artist. Arriving in the Netherlands in 1979, she made Amsterdam her home and began a long carriere, playing with many well known musicians out of the local and international scene. You won’t often catch her playing blues covers or covers of any kind for that matter… her gigantic original repetoire makes her a Blues musician, first class, but she doesn’t fall in the usual standard blues image. Playing a kind of crossover music, she calls her style BluesyRockyJazzyThrashyFunkyFolkySoul, and can be seen on stage either solo or with a band. Cindy Peress is a real musician/entertainer, unique and one of a kind, unforgettable if you have ever tuned into her musical magic.
